Building regulations

When building work is carried out, including alterations and extensions, it must be completed in accordance with building regulations.

Building regulations deal with standards of design and building work for homes, commercial and industrial buildings.

The regulations contain a list of requirements that have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of people in and around buildings, help energy conservation; and provide access and facilities for disabled people.
