Aims, objectives and activities of the Town Centre Partnership

Aims and objectives

‘To make Aylesbury town centre a pleasant and safe place for people to live, work and visit’ by:

  • provide a safe environment
  • balance the different needs of all stakeholders, e.g. residents, businesses and visitors
  • provide a variety of free events for all to enjoy
  • increase economic benefit to the town’s businesses
  • attract and retain visitors who have a wider than ever choice as to where to shop
  • provide a vibrant and exciting town centre
  • identify the need for, produce and monitor promotional literature
  • co-ordinate events held in the town centre
  • market Aylesbury as a destination open 7 days a week throughout the year

Activities of the Town Centre Partnership

  • Producing and implementing an annual action plan
  • Chairing the ‘Corporate Events and Marketing Group’ a group comprising of private/public sector representatives.
  • Producing bi-monthly newsletters about things going on in the town
  • Promoting the Aylesbury Retail Against Crime Initiative (ARAC) in partnership with the Police and local retailers
  • Organising a range of events to increase the numbers of visitors to the town
  • Organising decorative hanging baskets during the summer months
  • Keeping the town centre shopping guide up to date
  • Offering sponsorship opportunities for Christmas decorations
