Our Economic Development Plan is composed of a number of priorities which steer our activities and include:

1. Overarching

This involves activities such as establishing the Local Delivery Vehicle (LDV) and LDV Partnership and commencing work on a number of activities; as well as raising the profile of Aylesbury Vale as a place to live and work and establishing strategies with strategic stakeholders.

2. Marketing and Branding

There is a strong need to develop branding and marketing strategies for Aylesbury Vale as a place for economic prosperity and investment.

3. Investment/Town Centre Redevelopment

Investment is required to provide the best business environment to attract new job opportunities to the area and encourage local firms to remain and grow. Focus is being placed on town centre renaissance which aims to raise standards across the board.

4. Spatial Planning/Employment sites

Aylesbury’s employment growth needs to take into account Buckingham, Haddenham, Winslow, Wendover and Pitstone which account for a large proportion of the employment in the Vale. For maximum growth potential, AVDC need to make a provision to upgrade some of their key employment sites.

5. Infrastructure Investment

In order to create the right condition for sustained economic job growth Aylesbury Vale will need to invest to the strategic infrastructure of the Vale.

6. Enterprise & Business Support

Research has indicated that for a business to maximise its growth potential strong local business contacts and networks are needed to nurture and encourage supply chains.

AVDC are looking to communicate with the business community to make sure all business support agencies are working in partnership and providing the right information to the business community.

7. FE/HE & Key Skills

A successful and dynamic economy requires continued improvements to increase productivity. AVDC is working on a number of projects to continue these efforts.
