Sex Establishment Licensing Policy and Procedures
In December 2010 the District Council agreed to adopt new legislation which provides greater regulation of premises where entertainment of an adult nature (for example lap dancing) is provided. We already have licensing powers in relation to sex cinemas and sex shops and it has been decided to incorporate the existing controls into the newly adopted legislation to form a joint policy on sex establishments which cover all forms of adult entertainment.
The policy and fees were agreed by Licensing Committee on the 1st July 2011 and will be implemented from 1st September 2011.
