The Licensing Section issues licences and regulates a number of businesses
The following businesses need to be licensed or registered
- Taxis (Hackney Carraiges) and Private Hire (formerley known as Minicabs)
- Premise selling alcohol, providing late night hot refreshment and entertainment
- Gambling and Gaming
- Scrap Metal Dealers
- Street Collections & House to House Collections
- Animal Licensing – Boarding (inc. Home boarding), Pet Shops, Riding Stables, Dog Breeding, Dangerous Wild Animals, Zoo Licensing
- Skin Piercing – Acupuncture, Tattooing, Ear and Body Piercing, Electrolysis, Micropigmentation
- Street Trading
- Sex Shops
