Will my home be required to be smokefree?
No. Private dwellings and private residential spaces are not required to be smokefree, except for parts of dwellings used solely as a place of work by more than one person.
I work from home. Will it have to be smokefree?
It depends. The law requires that any parts of a home will be required to be smokefree if they are used solely as a place of work for:
- more than 1 person who does not live at the property
- a person who lives at the property and any person who does not
- any person whether they live at the property or not, if people who do not live there come to give or receive goods or services.
Can I smoke in my car?
Yes, the regulations do not extend to vehicles used primarly for private purposes.
