The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire Learning and Skills Council which covers the Thames Valley is responsible for all-post 16 education and training, other than higher education. It offers work based training for young people, adults and community learning, information, advice and guidance for adults.

It provides funding to employers to develop their current and future workforces, and to wider partnerships to contribute to local economic development and widening participation. It offers funding for work based training for young people, adult training and workforce development services for companies with less than 250 employees.
