How can we apply to AVDC's Select List of Approved Suppliers?

We do not currently operate any select lists.

Who do I speak to about the supply of goods, services and works to AVDC?

If this guide does not answer all of your questions, enquiries should be sent to procurement@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk

How do I find out about the opportunities to supply to AVDC?

All tenders over £50,000 will be posted on the South East Business Portal which can be accessed via a link under the Tendering Opportunities section.

OJEU lists all current tenders that exceed the financial thresholds. Please follow the link given at the bottom of this section.

Do you only look for the cheapest price?

No, not always. We usually choose the offer that provides the best overall value for AVDC and will make the decision based upon a number of criteria. These are generally identified in the invitation to tender documents. If the decision is to based upon price only, this will also be stated in the tender documents.

Are evaluation criteria other than those published in the Invitation to Tender used?

No.  We will only evaluate your proposal in accordance with the criteria that were published in the tender documentation.

The preparation of a tender can be costly; can I be reimbursed for my expenses?

No, we are not able to reimburse any person or organisation for the preparation of a tender.

Can I send my tender by fax?

No, all tenders must be received by hand, post or electronically by the specified closing date and time.

Will tenders be accepted after the closing date and time?

No.  Any tenders received late will be returned unopened to the tenderer.

If I am unsuccessful in a tender bid will I automatically be considered when the contract comes up for renewal?

No. In fact anyone interested in tendering for a contract needs to apply, including any incumbent contractor.

Our company is small, would I still be considered?

Yes, as long as you meet the requirements detailed in the tender documentation and are of sound financial status (this is determined by reference to the size and value of the contract concerned).

I have done lots of work for AVDC before, surely I don’t have to describe my company’s experience and ability in detail the way I would to a new client?

Yes you do. Each tender is treated separately and may be evaluated by different personnel. They may not have any previous knowledge of your company or past performance.
