Community led planning
Community led plans are a means by which local communities can set our their own needs and priorities and draw up an action plan to address these. They are sometimes referred to as Parish Plans.
They provide a great opportunity to involve the whole community so that local people can have a say in what goes on in their area; deal with specific issues and work together to find solutions to inform local decision making and planning as appropriate.
If you are interested in preparing a community led plan it is important to make links with the district or countywide sustainable community strategy. (see link below)
It is also important to get to know about the Vale of Aylesbury Plan and Neighbourhood Plans which will set out the spatial planning policies for the district. The August 2012 newsletter (download below) provides information on current planning news, or for more detail contact the council’s Forward Plans team (details below).
For advice and support on preparing a community led plan contact Community Impact Bucks (CIB) on 0845 3890389.
