Anti-social behaviour cannot be resolved without your help and involvement!

You can:

Try speaking to the person responsible for the nuisance

Don't do this when either of you are angry or upset. If you feel frightened, drop a polite note through their door informing them of the problem. It is often better to address a problem in person early on, rather than to leave it and to get more and more annoyed with the situation. Your neighbour may have more respect for you if you address the problem yourself rather than officially complain to the police or us. Often people don't realise that they are causing a nuisance.

Speak to your Neighbourhood Police Team

Have Your Say events are held in every neighbourhood once per month. The event is an opportunity to raise your concerns with the neighbourhood police team and your local Police Community Safety Officer (PCSO). These dates are published on the thames valley police website (www.thamesvalley.police.uk).

Neighbourhood Action Groups (NAGs) are a community based group who deal with local crime and disorder issues in partnership with the police and council. If you would like to find out more about  your NAG, how to get involved and future meeting dates, visit www.thamesvalley.police.uk

Contact a third party to help resolve the matter

Try Mediation Buckinghamshire for help and advice. It's a free, confidential, independent and impartial service open to local residents in Buckinghamshire. Mediation can help resolve communication problems between neighbours, noise problems, parking problems, disputes concerning fences, hedges & boundaries, rubbish complaints, complaints regarding pets, complaints regarding children and disputes about shared spaces. Keep a log

Keep details of all acts of anti-social behaviour: times, dates, duration, details and how it incident affected you. This can be sent to our Anti-Social Behaviour Officer at Community Services, Aylesbury Vale District Council, 66 High Street, Aylesbury, HP20 1SD, or the Public Safety Team at Aylesbury Police Station, Wendover Road, Aylesbury HP21 7LA. 

Contact your local Parish or Town Council

Your town and parish council may be able to help you with the problem. Follow this link to a list of clerks to the parish and town councils in this area.

If it's a criminal matter

Report the incident to Thames Valley Police on 101 or if you want to offer information on crime eg possible drug dealing etc call CRIMESTOPPERS free on 0800 555111 - you do not have to give your name, if your information leads to a conviction you may get a reward.

If it's a racial incident

Report the incident to Thames Valley Police 101.

If you or the person responsible is a Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust tenant

Contact your Neighbourhood Housing Manager on 01296 732600.

If you or the person responsible is a home owner/occupier

Report it to the Public Safety Team on the number or email below. This team is made up of AVDC and Police Staff. You may want to discuss it first or complete the form by downloading it from below.

If the problem is due to excessive, persistent noise or public health issues

Contact Environmental Health on 01296 585605 or  e-mail the details to envhealth@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk.   

Untaxed vehicles

Report it to the DVLA on their free phone 'hotline' on 08000 325202 (24hrs). They can take enforcement action against people who choose not to display or pay their road tax.

Abandoned vehicles

Please note the make, the colour and registration number along with details of location - then call us on 01296 585076 during office hours or email the details to: abandonedcars@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk.

Graffiti

Email the details of the content, the location and the date and time you noticed it. Please note that we do not have powers to automatically enter land or treat properties that are not owned by us. On receipt of your information we will have the graffiti removed if it is on our land, or inform the owners of the private property, so they are aware and request them to remove it.
