Details of a Dispersal Order currently in place in Winslow.
AVDC and Thames Valley Police have issued a dispersal order in Winslow to tackle anti-social behaviour. The main area covered by the dispersal order is in the High Street and Greyhound Lane car park, and has been a cause for concern among residents and local businesses.
The order came into effect on 19 September and runs for 6 months. It gives the police extra powers to move groups of people away from specific areas, to help prevent further anti-social behaviour incidents. Anyone who continues to gather in the area with the intention of acting in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to local residents and businesses will have their details recorded by the police to prevent the anti-social behaviour continuing. Anyone who refuses to leave the area, or who returns to it within 24 hours, will be arrested.
Signs have been put up in Winslow to show the dispersal area covered and explain the powers that the police have.
