This section is about the role the primary care trust play in the community safety partnership
The primary care trust is responsible for planning and securing quality healthcare services, reducing inequalities and improving the health of the local population.
They provide services in the county such as district nursing, health visiting, a range of therapy services and care within community hospitals as well as working with GPs, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists and other local NHS trusts.
The Primary Care Trust help in the reduction of crime through initiatives to reduce domestic abuse and to identify where casualties in accident and emergency have been involved in any disorder. This allows the partnership to be more effective when targeting locations known to cause problems.
