This section is about the role that the youth offending service play in the community safety partnership
Bucks Youth Offending Service (YOS) is a strategic partnership which brings together professionals from police, probation, social services, education, youth work and health, who work to the primary aim of preventing offending by children and young people across the county.
The YOS not only intervenes in the lives of young people who offend but also undertakes significant work with families, victims of youth offending and the wider community. They are also involved in the development of early intervention services for children who are considered to be at risk of entering the youth justice system or who are involved in anti-social behaviour.
The Youth Offending Team play a significant role in the provision of positive activities for young people (PAYP). PAYP is a programme which runs during school holidays and is aimed at young people who are at risk of social exclusion or committing crime, activities such as sports, team building, arts and crafts are all provided in an environment structured to provide a positive experience and instill feelings of unity, teamwork and personal achievement.
