Community safety voluntary sector
This section is about the role the voluntary sector play in the community safety partnership
The voluntary sector has an important role to play in the Aylesbury Vale community safety partnership. Some key agencies have provided support, evidence, experience and enthusiasm to the partnership and there have been a number of initiatives as a result of their involvement.
Aylesbury Vale has a proud tradition of maintaining safe and secure communities. Through neighbourhood policing and neighbourhood watch you can be a part of this. Becoming a volunteer allows you to actively engage with your neighbourhood and make a positive difference.
You can become a valuable part of neighbourhood policing and offer your skills to improve safety, local issues, and reduce fear of crime either by joining your local neighbourhood action group or joining the police as a volunteer.
Similarly, neighbourhood watch schemes can act as the eyes and ears for the police and provide an important source of information and reassurance to local residents.
Contact the Neighbourhood Policing Team on 08458 505 505 or the Neighbourhood Watch Team on 01296 396262 for further details.
Bucks Victim Support, Aylesbury Women’s Aid, Crimestoppers, the Vale of Aylesbury housing trust and vale volunteers have all been involved in the reduction of crime and disorder. To find out more about their activities follow the links to the left hand side.
