Crimestoppers

This section is about the role crimestoppers play in the community safety partnership

Crimestoppers is an independent charity helping to find criminals and solve crimes.

They have an anonymous freephone number, 0800 555 111, that people can call to pass on information about crime. Alternatively people can send information anonymously via the website shown below, using the giving information form. Callers don't have to give their name or any personal information and calls cannot be traced.

The information you give Crimestoppers is passed onto the police in such a way that they do not know who you are; they have never given the police information about callers. It's a simple and secure way of bringing criminals to justice, without anybody knowing who the information came from.

Crimestoppers lead the ‘tag a tagger’ campaign to reduce graffiti across the district and continue to support local initiatives such as theft from the person using cat bells and burglary reduction. Crimestoppers can provide the crucial alternative for an individual to provide information to the police without having to speak to them. They are a valuable resource who often bring a new dynamic to partnership work.
