Victim support Buckinghamshire

This section is about the role Victim Support play in the community safety partnership

Victim Support has been instrumental in the work around domestic abuse. Many campaigns have attempted to encourage victims of abuse to acknowledge the abusive behaviour and report to the police, Women’s Aid, or indeed victim support.

Marketing and increasing awareness are the more simple facets of tackling domestic abuse, victim support have been the voice at the end of the phone, often talking to distraught and destitute victims and providing support which can often last a lifetime.Victim Support has also been part of the campaign to reduce burglary across the district. Burglary is a particularly intrusive crime and can be extremely hurtful. Victim support can provide assistance with this and in partnership with the hard target programme, is an efficient way to reduce burglary and the fear of it happening again.

Information on the hard target scheme which offers free home security improvements can be found in our Flagship section
