Crime and disorder

This section is about crime and disorder in Aylesbury Vale. It includes sections on statistics, crime reduction advice, our initiatives and on neighbourhood policing.

Aylesbury Vale is one the safest places in Thames Valley and has had the most significant reduction in crime between 2004 - 2008 across the Thames Valley. Since then we have continued to achieve substantial reductions in crime.  Serious acquisitive crime (burglary, robbery, vehicle crime) is a key priority. The crime statistics for the period 01/04/11 to 30/09/11 are as follows:

Burglary dwelling  -8.7%
Theft of vehicle      -26.4%
Theft from vehicle  2.1%
Total Serious Acquisitive Crime -7.6%

Although levels of crime and disorder are comparatively low in the district we still want you to feel safe and be able to enjoy the Vale. Within the crime and disorder section of the website you will be able to
read our crime reduction advice section which helps you understand why people become victims and how to avoid becoming one.

We also discuss our initiatives. Find out what we're actually doing to improve crime and disorder in your area. If you think we're not doing enough, contact us and let us know why.
