Volunteer to reduce crime and disorder in the Vale
This section of the website is about volunteering to make a positive difference.
Volunteering is about giving your time to support good work in your local community. Your time can help the community safety partnership tackle the local priorities that really affect your community and increase public confidence.
For volunteering opportunities please contact Vale Volunteers on 01296 337456 or administration@valevolunteers.org.uk or take a look at their website - www.valevolunteers.org.uk
Aylesbury Vale has a proud tradition of maintaining safe and secure communities. Through neighbourhood policing and neighbourhood watch you can be a part of this. Becoming a volunteer allows you to actively engage with your neighbourhood and make a positive difference. You can become a valuable part of neighbourhood policing and offer your skills to improve safety, local issues, and reduce fear of crime either by joining your local neighbourhood watch or joining the police as a volunteer.
Contact the neighbourhood policing team on 0845 8 505 505 or the neighbourhood watch team on 01296 396262 for further details.
The Buckinghamshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) rely on volunteers to engage with different communities, and putting anti-drugs messages across. The time, effort and views volunteers freely give the DAAT are highly valued and crucial in tackling drug problems across Aylesbury Vale.
The DAAT can be contacted on 01296 387034, bucksdaat@buckscc.gov.uk or visit www.bucksdaat.co.uk
Volunteers are crucial to the work of many organisations; particularly Victim Support. You could be trained to give emotional support, information and practical help to people who have suffered the effects of all kinds of crime. Voluntary work with young people
Buckinghamshire Youth Offending Service (YOS) and the Children’s Preventative Action and Support Team (CPAST) are multi-agency services that work with children and young people who are involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, offending or anti-social behaviour across the County.
They are currently looking for members of the local community, aged over 18, who are actively interested in voluntary work with young people aged 8 to 18 and in supporting the work of the YOS. You will be providing a valuable service to these children and to the community by becoming a volunteer.
