Sources of funding advice

If you have a project that you are raising funds for information about funding sources and how to apply for funding is available from a variety of sources, below are some useful links.

Bucks Community Action run a funding advice service especially in regard to compiling Lottery bids. Contact Laurie Johnson on 01296 421036 email: laurie@bucks-comm-action.org.uk or visit the BCA website on the link below.

The Bucks Funding Group is a partnership between the local authorities and voluntary sector organisations in Bucks which aims to provide information on the funding opportunities available to groups in the county.

Fundraising Training

Aylesbury Vale District Council has devised a fundraising training programme to meet the needs of the voluntary and community sector in the district. Courses are available between September 2008 and March 2009 in the following areas:

  • Compiling and writing a project grant application.
  • Raising funds from trusts and foundations.
  • Raising funds from individuals for the first time.

All courses are open to voluntary and community sector organisations, parish councils and social enterprises in Aylesbury Vale.  Further details, including a booking form, can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.

 Funding Advice Day

Every year Aylesbury Vale District Council in partnership with the Buckinghamshire Funding Group organises a Funding Advice Day. This is usually held in the Spring and in 2008 took place in March. Organisations can book one-to-one appointments with local and national funders to receive advice and guidance on their project ideas and fundraising needs. A copy of the feedback report is available to download at the bottom of the page.

Further details about next year's event will be made available in early 2009.
