Standards Committee - Councillors Conduct

The Standards Committee is responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by district, town and parish councillors in Aylesbury Vale.

This includes helping councillors to follow the local code of conduct that exists for each council. It is also the job of this committee to decide whether there has been a breach of the code and to decide what action, if any, should be taken. Follow the links at the bottom of the page to download a copy of AVDC's local code of conduct and the model code for town and parish councils.

Under these codes councillors are required to complete a register of interests. The register for district councillors is available for public inspection at the council's customer service centres. To inspect registers for Town/Parish councillors contact the relevant Town/Parish Clerk.  The contact details for all the clerks for the Parish/Town Councils can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of the page.

If you have any concerns about the behaviour of a district, town or parish councillor who serves on a council within the district of Aylesbury Vale, you can make a complaint to the standards committee. You can download an explanatory leaflet and complaint form from the link at the bottom of the page.

The Standards Committee has adopted a formal complaints procedure which can also be downloaded using the link at the bottom of the page.

If you want to discuss your complaint, please contact the Monitoring Officer on 01296-585024 or Deputy Monitoring Officer on 01296-585048.  Full contact details are set out below.

To submit a complaint to the Standards Committee please see the contact details are the bottom of the page.
