When you pay your council tax the amount you pay is shared out between,

Our share of the council tax this year is less than 9% of what is collected. That is £2.47 per week for an average (band D) property.

This £2.47 pays towards all your district council services, including:

Cleaning services such as refuse and recycling collections, street cleaning, and removing abandoned cars, graffiti and litter.
Environmental services such as food safety and air quality and noise pollution control.
Licensing of alcohol, food and entertainment premises, and licensing of taxis and street traders.
Planning and building control including building safety services.
Leisure facilities and sports and arts services including parks and open spaces
Electoral registration and running elections
