How do I pay my council tax?
Direct Debit
Direct Debit payments are taken directly from your bank account. The scheme is our most simple and cost effective method of payment. It will save you time and help us because we do not have to chase you for payment. There are no cheques to write and no paperwork or postage each month. You will be advised at least 10 working days in advance to any changes to your instalments so you can remain in complete control of your bank account.
To pay by Direct Debit you can call us on 01296 585299 and we can take your bank details over the telephone. Alternatively please see the bottom of this page to download a form to print, complete and return it to us.
In person
You can pay cash or by debit card or credit card directly to us through the Council Offices situated at 66 High Street Aylesbury, or Buckingham, or Winslow. Payment can also be made at banks, building societies or post offices, but they may charge for this service.
By post
You can send cheques through the post. Please ensure that your account number is clearly quoted on the reverse side of your cheque, along with your home address. Please do not send cash.
By phone
If you have a credit or debit card you can pay your bill over the telephone. Please call (01296) 585820. This service is now available 24 hours a day.
Online
You can now pay online by debit or credit card. Payments received after 6pm will be processed the following day.
