Community Governance Review

The council has commenced a Community Governance Review under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.

The purpose of the review is to enable the council to consider what changes are needed to the parish arrangements within the district.  The council published its terms of reference for the two stage review in May 2014, the details can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

Following a 2 month introductory period (May-July 2014) which sought submissions from stakeholders on future arrangements, the General Purposes Committee met on 19 August 2014 and resolved that the following draft recommendations be approved for the purposes of the formal (second stage) consultation process:-

1.  That a new Parish Council for the Quarrendon Parish (which includes the housing development known as Berryfields) be created as shown on the map submitted to the meeting.
2.  That, based on future occupancy levels, the new Parish Council should comprise 12 Parish Councillors.
3. That for the purposes of consultation, the new Parish Council be named "Berryfields", but as part of the consultation process, alternative suggestions be invited from stakeholders.
4.  That the membership of Stewkley Parish Council be increased from 8 to 9.

The second stage of the review process is to invite residents and interested organisations to submit their views.  Should you wish to submit a written response regarding the review please address it to:
