Special categories of voters

Voting if you are a member of Her Majesty's armed forces, a Crown Servant or a British Council employee

If you are a member of Her Majesty's armed forces, a Crown Servant or a British Council employee you can apply to be included on the register of electors.  Please contact us for more information.

Voting if you are homeless

You can register to vote by making a "declaration of local connection" by giving an address, such as a local cafe, where you spend a substantial amount of time. Please contact us for more information.

Voting if you are in a mental hospital

You can register to vote (unless you are in a mental hospital because of criminal behaviour). Click on the link "how to register" to find out more.

Voting if you are an un-convicted or remand prisoner

You will be able to register in the establishment where you are being held, if you are likely to spend a long time in custody.  You are not able to vote if you are a convicted prisoner.  Click on the link "how to register" to find out more.
