Notice of Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places
Sections 18A to 18E of the Representation of the People Act 1983
Each local authority is required to carry out a review of polling districts and polling places on a regular five-yearly cycle.
We are looking for feedback on any aspect of the allocated polling area or polling station used and invite representations and comments from interested persons. Local political parties and councillors will be consulted and views are invited from residents as well as such groups or organisations as may have particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability.
Any elector in the Council’s area can make representations, which may include proposals for alternative polling places.
The first part of the review has taken place and the General Purposes Committee met on 19 August to consider the initial consultation which took place during June and July 2014 and the comments received during the consultation period from Members, Town and Parish Councils, political parties, Bucks County Council and residents of the Vale. The Link to the General Purposes Committee agenda and minutes is shown below.
The General Purposes Committee agreed the draft proposals at their meeting on 19 August and the second stage of the review is to consult further and seek input. Representations should be made in writing by 10 October 2014. A submission form can be downloaded from the link below.
