Data Protection and Privacy Policy

The Data Protection Act 1998 gives individuals the right to know what information is held about them and provides a framework of 8 data protection principles to ensure that personal information is handled properly. The Act seeks to balance the rights of individuals to privacy of their personal information with the sometimes competing interests of those with legitimate reasons for using personal information.

All potential uses to which personal data held by AVDC may be put will be declared in our annual notification to the Information Commissioner which can be found on his website linked below  (AVDC registration number Z5465986). Where explicit individual consent is legally required to process personal information it will be sought before undertaking any processing.

If you are a user with general public and anonymous access the AVDC website does not store or capture personal information, but merely logs the user's IP address which is automatically recognised by the web server.

We do not use cookies for collecting user information and we will not collect any information about you except that required for systems administration or our web server.

This privacy statement only covers the AVDC website. Links within this site to other websites are not covered by this statement.
