2009 Design Awards Plaque - Winner Bourg Walk and Station Boulevard

The Annual Design Award Scheme is a high profile initiative organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council to recognise and celebrate examples of good building design in the District. This year we have ten entries with two more to be confirmed soon.

A panel of judges including elected members and built environment professionals from CABE (The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment), and The Architecture Centre, will assess each entry with particular attention being paid to:

  • Context, including local distinctiveness
  • Quality of design and construction
  • Fitness for purpose
  • Sustainability
  • Accessibility
  • Innovation
  • Attractiveness

The certificates and plaque will be presented at an evening awards ceremony to be held in the Oculus on Wednesday 10th November. The designer of Aylesbury's new Waterside theatre, Norman Bragg, Principal Director of RHWL Architects, will be speaking about its design. Designers and clients for all schemes entered will be invited.

This year the evening has been kindly sponsored by Aylesbury Vale Advantage, Howard Sharp and Partners, Savills and RHWL.
