On Thursday 1 March we are inviting local children to come to a party at the Museum to celebrate World Book Day, dressed (if they want to) as their favourite book characters. We will be awarding prizes for the best costumes.
Entry to the Museum will be FREE and children will be able to exchange their £1 World Book Day vouchers in our Shop for a choice of books specially published for the occasion. One of the eight books on offer this year is Roald Dahl’s Fantabulous Facts. This buzzwangling book features letters and quotes by Roald Dahl about all sorts of stuff, from what he got up to as a boy, to how to cook savoury crocodile, plus jokes, quizzes and top tips. In short, a must for every Roald Dahl fan.
World Book Day vouchers can also be used as £1 discount vouchers for any book purchase from the Shop.
Party guests will also be able to join in with free games, storytelling and craft activities. Café Twit will be offering a selection of tempting goodies and a free glass of the BFG’s favourite, Frobscottle.
