Riverside Walk Volunteers

Forthcoming Projects for Autumn/ Winter 2008

Aylesbury Vale Countryside Service and BTCV are working in partnership to deliver a programme of practical conservation activities along the Riverside Walk.

Saturday 13th September
Dock and Ragwort removal. Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Removal and clearance of these invasive plants . Help create and maintain the meadows.

Saturday 27th September
Snakeshead Fritillary Planting. Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Increase the number of these rare flowers in the meadows.

Saturday 11th October
Dock and Ragwort removal. Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Removal and clearance of these invasive plants . Help create and maintain the meadows.

Sunday 25th October
Pathway Clearance. Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Open up the pathways of overhanging trees and shrubs.

Sunday 22nd November
Tree and Shrub planting Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Help create a native woodland. Including the nationally rare Black poplar.

Sunday 6th December
Tree and Shrub planting Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Help create a native woodland. Including the nationally rare Black poplar.

Sunday 13th December
White poplar tree felling. Meet at Meadowcroft Community Centre, 10am to 2pm.
Removing these non native trees. A chance to be a lumberjack for the day


Come along and help improve the Riverside Walk for wildlife. Tools and training will be provided, all you need is old clothes, sturdy footwear and plenty of enthusiasm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
