Grass Cutting

We cut grass on land that we own across the Vale. Grass along highway verges and within most villages is also cut on behalf of the county council and the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust.

The total cut each year is approximately 3.5 million square metres. Most of the open spaces in Aylesbury, Buckingham and Winslow are cut 13 times a year, while elsewhere across the Vale we cut 10 times per year.

Grounds maintenance is carried out by John O'Conner (Grounds Maintenance) Ltd on behalf of AVDC.

The grass cutting service is part of our overall grounds maintenance contract. Grounds Maintenance Limited was appointed in January 2005 to carry out this work and was awarded a contract for 7 years.

For work which has been carried out call John O'Conner's freephone number 0800 389 3395.
