Tree inspection

The Council has been recording trees on its computer database for the since 1997. Inspections are mainly carried out from ground level in good visibility.

Two full tree surveys have been completed on all AVDC’s open spaces and parks, with partial surveys carried out on Council leased land and VAHT tenants’ gardens. We aim to resurvey the Council’s tree stock at least once every five years to ensure our records are kept up to date. Hazardous trees and those reported by the public are often inspected more frequently. It is the duty of the Tree Officers to arrange for periodic inspections, timely remedial work and to keep detailed records.
