The accompanying Sustainability Appraisal is also available for comment. The period for commenting runs from Wednesday 8th May until 5.00pm on Wednesday 19th June 2013. Late submissions cannot be accepted.

What is the Vale of Aylesbury Plan Strategy?

The VAP Strategy sets out the vision, strategic objectives, overall jobs and housing figures for the District, along with apportionment across the District, and the principles of how development should take place in terms of delivering infrastructure, economic growth, housing, environmental protection and the localism agenda. It does not allocate sites for growth.

What is the purpose of publication?

The VAP Strategy Proposed Submission document has been published in order for comments to be made on the legal compliance and soundness of the Plan before it is submitted for independent examination. Comments will be considered alongside the document at the examination by an independent Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.

What documents are available?

All the VAP Strategy Proposed Submission documents are available to download on the Vale of Aylesbury Plan Documents and Evidence page. Alternatively there are printed copies of the main publication material available at deposit points (the location and opening times of these are detailed in the Statement of Availability). A CD with the documents on is also available on request.

A series of topic papers have been produced to accompany the VAP Strategy Proposed Submission. The topic papers provide an understanding of the latest evidence, wider context and reasoning for the proposed policy approach.

A number of Facts Packs were initially produced in 2010 to help inform town/parish councils about the characteristics of their parish for their ‘community view’ consultation. They have  since been used to support neighbourhood planning and the settlement hierarchy assessment. Fact Packs were produced where town and parish councils wanted to explore the possibility of future development. The content of the Fact Pack reflects the size of the parish or town.           Back to top of page
