Aylesbury Vale District Council has announced dates for its waste collection service over the Easter period.

From Friday 14 April to Saturday 22 April there will be changes to residents’ normal refuse and recycling collections.

Collection dates will be amended during the Easter period as follows:

Normal collection day      Revised collection day
Friday 14 April                   Saturday 15 April
Monday 17 April                Tuesday 18 April
Tuesday 18 April              Wednesday 19 April
Wednesday 19 April        Thursday 20 April
Thursday 20 April             Friday 21 April
Friday 21 April                   Saturday 22 April

Recycling will be collected on the same day as your refuse following the same fortnightly and four-weekly pattern. Please refer to the calendars provided by the council to check when collections will take place.

If your collection is delayed for any reason, please leave out your refuse and recycling and we’ll collect it as soon as we can. Please remember – it’s essential to put out your refuse and recycling at the collection point by 6.30am on the day of collection.

Don’t forget, you can also take all household waste to the household recycling centres at
• Rabans Close, Rabans Lane, Aylesbury; and
• Yonder Slade, Ring Road Industrial Estate, Buckingham.
Both sites are open from 8am until 6pm, seven days a week, during British Summer Time.

Nationwide industrial action by public sector trade unions over changes to the local government pension scheme may take place on 25 April. Refuse and recycling services may be affected by a one-day strike on this day.

The latest information on any affects to services will be posted on AVDC’s website and issued to local press and radio. Details of affected services will also be available from our Customer Service Centre at High Street, Aylesbury, and other area offices.
