AVDC is urging residents who have access to the internet to sign up to receive their council tax bill online.
Online bills can help residents manage their account better because they will be able to gain quick access to their bill, any time day or night, without having to wait until they receive it through the post.
Once the facility is set up, taxpayers will be able to view and receive all their future bills online and in subsequent years they will be able to look at all the bills that have been provided in this way. It will also avoid the need to keep a paper record and allow a quick and easy comparison from one year to the next.
Councillor Margaret Morgan-Owen, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “We are asking residents to do their bit for the planet and help the council save money. For every bill we send online instead of through the post, we make a saving on stationary, postage and staff time, and we help the environment. It’s a very simple process that could save taxpayers hundreds of pounds over the next few years.”
