People of all ages from the Southcourt, Walton Court and Hawkslade areas in Aylesbury will come together in the town this month at a special community celebration. 

The community celebration will be held at the Healthy Living Centre in Walton Court, Oak Green School in Oak Road and Mandeville Upper School in Ellen Road on Saturday 21 January from 11am to 2pm.

The free event has been organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council with Thames Valley Police, The Buckinghamshire Foundation and other organisations to promote the importance of taking part in local activities and to celebrate everything going on in the local area.

There will be family craft activities, table top sales, health walks and a chance to enter a free prize draw if you visit all three sites and complete a quiz. Youngsters at Oak Green School will be demonstrating their gymnastics skills and there will be chair based exercises for older residents.

A wide range of services, both voluntary and statutory, will also be on hand to provide lots of help and advice on a variety of topics including community safety, health, and volunteering.

A free bus will be running between all three sites so residents can enjoy the activities at each venue. The bus will depart on the hour from the Healthy Living Centre, 20 minutes past the hour from Oak Green School and 20 minutes to the hour from Mandeville Upper School.

Councillor Pam Pearce, Cabinet Member for Community Matters, said: “It is certain to be an exciting and most enjoyable occasion. Everyone is welcome to come along to this free event to celebrate all that is happening in our communities.”
