A funding fair organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council for community and voluntary groups has been hailed a great success by funding organisations and visitors alike.

The fair, held at the council’s Exchange Street offices this week, drew representatives from more than 30 organisations who were seeking advice on a wide range of projects from play facilities to sports club projects, village hall improvements and schemes for young people.

Representatives from funding organisations such as Awards for All, Bucks Foundation, Bucks Community Action, Aylesbury Vale Arts Council and Aylesbury Vale Joint Sports Council were on hand to offer advice and information to provide interested groups the best possible chance of gaining funding.

Councillor Pam Pearce, Cabinet Member for Community Matters, said: “The funding fair was extremely successful and we had very positive feedback from the funding bodies and project and group organisers who thought it was really worthwhile.

“The fair highlighted the many funding opportunities available for community and voluntary groups in Aylesbury Vale and we were pleased that so many people took the time to come along and find out what grant aid is available.”

Following the success of the funding fair, the council will be discussing the possibility of organising a similar event in the future.
