Teenagers in Aylesbury Vale now have the opportunity to go online to find an exciting variety of information on a brand new mini website that’s been developed especially for them.

Named ‘TeenZone’, it will help young people aged 13 to 19 find out more about what is happening in their community.

There will be regularly updated information on activities and events which young people can take part in across the district and a wealth of detail on facilities available to them. There are also links to sites which can help teenagers with everything from exams to personal problems.

AVDC is urging young people to feedback their views on the mini website and how it could be improved so they are getting a service they want.

Councillor Margaret Morgan-Owen, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “TeenZone is a great way for young people to find out what is on offer in Aylesbury Vale. Using the internet is second nature to teenagers and we hope they give our new mini website a try and make it their own. We value their contributions, views and take on life, that helps us plan services for the future and look forward to getting their feedback on the website.”

Alice Tomlins, aged 13, from North Marston, has won a competition to name the new website and received £30 of High Street shopping vouchers for her suggestion. Alice said: “I think TeenZone is brilliant. It’s a great way of letting young people know what’s happening in their area and it’s a lot of fun too.”
