Representatives from sports clubs throughout Aylesbury Vale are invited to attend a networking evening to share thoughts and ideas, as well as getting the latest information updates on sporting issues.
The free event is being held on Friday 24 November at the Winslow Centre, Winslow, from 7pm-9.30pm. It is open to sports clubs across the district.
Organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council’s sports development team, the evening will offer advice on grants, child protection, increasing club membership and recruiting volunteers.
Delegates will also have the chance to share good practice with colleagues from other clubs. AVDC sports development officers and representatives from the Bucks and Milton Keynes Sports Partnership will be on hand to offer tips and advice.
Councillor David Thompson, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “Aylesbury Vale has a huge number of sports clubs and organisations, most of which are run by dedicated volunteers who rely on fundraising. This is a good opportunity for sports men and women, coaches and other volunteers across the district to meet up and talk about the problems they face and to discuss issues, such as ways of securing funding. There will be lots of help and advice available on many subjects relevant to sports clubs.”
Anyone interested in attending the networking evening must register their place in advance. For more details and to book a place, phone the sports development team on 01296 585221 or email cbolton@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk
