The search is on for a name for a brand new youth mini website in Aylesbury Vale.

Young people aged 13 to 19 are being given the chance to win £30 of High Street shopping vouchers in a competition to come up with the most exciting name.

The mini website will be an area of the existing AVDC website dedicated to young people living in the district.

Young people will be able to access information on activities and events; jobs and training; learning and development; health advice; and much more.  The mini website will also be a portal connecting to a range of websites that provide information about initiatives across the district so that young people can discover what help or facilities are available to them.

The competition is open to all 13 to 19 year olds in the district and entry forms are available from the council’s website at www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk

The site is being launched on 13 November and will be available to view via a link from the homepage on the council’s website.

Councillor Margaret Morgan-Owen, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “This is a really exciting project that will be of great value to young people in Aylesbury Vale. We’re now looking for young people to come up with a modern name for the website that will reflect the views and aspirations of the younger generation.”

The deadline for competition entries is 27 October 2006. The competition is free and you can enter as many times as you like.
