Grants of up to £5000 are available to budding entrepreneurs and local companies who wish to improve and expand their business.

Aylesbury Vale District Council’s business grants scheme provides financial help to start-up firms and existing small businesses operating in the district.

The business grants scheme can support new business start-ups with grants of up to £3000 and existing businesses with grants of up to £5000, subject to meeting certain criteria. 

These grants can be awarded for a variety of purposes including; property improvements; marketing and advertising: research and development; new equipment; and staff training.

Businesses awarded grant funding recently include:
• Chiltern Technology, Aylesbury –  £5000 for rebranding, redesigning the company website and expanding their advertising campaign
• Cliff Productions Ltd, Oving - £5000 for marketing and advertising services, e-marketing, website development and creation of literature
• Complete Property Management Ltd, Buckingham - £2473 for new software

Councillor Peter Cooper, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “These grants are there for the taking and we would encourage new and existing businesses to get in touch to see if they are eligible. The council is committed to supporting and assisting local companies and we want to ensure that those businesses that are entitled to these grants take maximum advantage and help strengthen our local economy.”

Those businesses that wish to be considered for a grant need to make an application to the AVDC Business Grants Panel, which meets approximately four times a year. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in November.
