Voluntary and community groups are being invited to meet a range of different organisations that are able to give grants for local projects at a funding fair to be held in Aylesbury Vale.
Volunteers working on community projects or running sports clubs often struggle to find out what grant aid is available and should find the event invaluable. It will be an opportunity to talk directly to representatives from local funders to find out the best ways to make applications.
Representatives from Aylesbury Vale District Council, Buckinghamshire Foundation, Aylesbury Vale Joint Sports Council, Community Champions, Aylesbury Vale Arts Council and many more organisations will be available to offer advice and funding opportunities.
The funding fair will be held on 22 March in Buckingham at a venue to be confirmed and is open to organisations working in the Aylesbury Vale area. The day is being organised by the Buckinghamshire Funding Group, which is a partnership between the local authorities and voluntary sector organisations in the county.
Local groups wishing to attend this event will need to book their place in advance. People who express an interest in attending will be sent a booking form on which they will nominate their preferred advisors and time slot. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Councillor Pam Pearce, Cabinet Member for Community Matters, said: “The most important thing is to get the message out that there is funding available, and we would encourage representatives from local groups to come along and see what the possibilities are. The district council will have staff on hand who can give information about grants provided by the council, advice on building successful partnerships, and details of the various types of support the district council can provide to the voluntary and community sector.”
