A cash boost totalling £13,000 has been awarded to three businesses in Aylesbury Vale as part of the district council’s business grant scheme.
The AVDC business grant awards aim to promote local entrepreneurship by encouraging business and employment growth. There is up to £3,000 available for business start-up firms and up to £5,000 for existing businesses.
These grants can be awarded for a variety of purposes, such as property improvements, marketing and advertising, research and development, new equipment and staff training.
Ranieri Communications, a marketing and communications agency based in Kingfisher House in Walton Street, Aylesbury, is celebrating after receiving a £5,000 grant from AVDC. The grant has been awarded to help fund the relocation of the business to the Alton House Office Park in Gatehouse Way and the purchase of new equipment.
Jag Packaging, a small printing company based in the Vale Industrial Estate in Aylesbury, has received a grant of £5,000 towards the purchase of an additional gluing machine, a new fork lift truck and other equipment required to help move its production machinery to a new factory.
A project to transform an historical local pub has also received grant funding. A cheque for £3,000 has been given to 1762 Ltd, a business start-up, towards the refurbishment of the Seven Stars in Dinton, with the aim of making it a recognised food destination as well as a successful village pub.
Councillor Michael Edmonds, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “Encouraging business and creating more jobs is a priority for AVDC and the business grant scheme is a vital way to help strengthen our local economy. This funding can make a big difference to a new company wishing to take its first steps and an established business that wishes to expand or diversify.”
