Two tickets for the Santander British Grand Prix 2007 have been won by an Aylesbury man in a prize draw run by Aylesbury Vale District Council in partnership with Silverstone.
Gordon Rennie of Watermead won the two tickets for the British Grand Prix after entering a competition run on the AVDC website: www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk
The tickets, for a three-day pass, were provided by Silverstone to encourage local people to attend the Grand Prix, which is being held on Sunday, 8 July. Not many people realise that part of the Silverstone circuit falls within Aylesbury Vale.
The competition asked entrants to email the answer to a simple question: Which British driver won his first ever Formula 1 Grand Prix in Hungary in 2006? The answer, correctly identified by Mr Rennie, was Jenson Button.
Chairman of AVDC, Councillor Netta Glover, presented the tickets to Mr Rennie on Thursday 5 July.
