Aylesbury Vale District Council’s resident’s customer satisfaction survey starts this week, with 850 residents being interviewed in their homes.
The survey focuses on what residents think about living in Aylesbury Vale and how well they feel informed about the planned growth in the district.
Councillor John Cartwright, Leader of the Council, said: “We want to find out what residents really think is important about living here and what needs improving so we can try to meet their needs better.”
The survey will also be used to assess views of services, such as recycling and composting, internet access and usage, and attitudes to voting. Councillor Cartwright said: “Currently we recycle just under 20 per cent of our waste, but our aim is to reach the target set by government of 30 per cent in the next two years. So we want to find out what we can do to persuade people to get composting and recycle more.”
Interviewers, including trained Urdu and Gujarati speaking interviewers, will be employed across all parts of the district over the next four weeks. Residents will be randomly selected for the face to face interviews, which should take around 20 minutes to complete.
Councillor Cartwright continued: “This is a very important piece of work for us and I would appeal to anyone who is asked to participate, to do so – it’s your opportunity to let us know what you think and your views are very important to us. I would also like to reassure residents who may be uneasy about unplanned callers, that our interviewers will carry ID and show a letter of introduction from us, with a phone number to call should they want to check the authenticity of the interviewer”.
