Extra help for businesses in Buckinghamshire is on the way thanks to a joint venture between AVDC and Buckinghamshire County Council.
The online business services provided by AVDC and BCC have been improved so that they will be even more beneficial to local businesses.
New and established companies, young entrepreneurs, budding businesses and inward investors can access a wide range of valuable information at the touch of a button.
In addition to details about the range of support services provided to local companies, an improved business and commercial property and land database is now available to view on both the district and the county council websites.
The aim is to create an online business directory that includes details of all local businesses by name and by type of business and a comprehensive list of vacant land and commercial property across Buckinghamshire with details and contacts. Companies can make a request for their details to be added to the database by completing an online registration form.
The system is free to use, simple to self-register and can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Companies can now avoid going through a multiple registration process when accessing business services provided by the district and county councils and get easier and better access to information and advice.
Businesses can also register to receive the quarterly Vale Economy electronic newsletter, which includes up-to-date business news and information aimed at local companies, or request a business welcome pack.
Companies that register for the online services before the end of August this year will be entered into a prize draw to receive £1,000 worth of training or website development for their business.
Tracey Aldworth, Head of Chief Executive’s Support Services at AVDC, said: “The online services are a useful tool and a must for local businesses. We have created wider access to up-to-date relevant information to meet business needs, and to better inform the wider business community.
“Making processes simpler and cutting out the cost of bureaucracy is key to helping local businesses. This is just one of a number of initiatives the council will be looking to implement over time to encourage new business start-ups, business growth, inward investment and regeneration.”
Nigel Sims, Economic & Environment Services Manager at Buckinghamshire County Council, said: “This new online service provides improved access to information to businesses locally. It supports enquires from businesses wishing to move to Buckinghamshire. Information will also be available to commercial agents on properties being requested. Overall this new service will allow us to provide a better service to our customers.”
The new online business services can be accessed at www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk/business or www.buckscc.gov.uk/business.stm
Further information about business services can be obtained through the district council’s economic development team on 01296 585064 or the county council’s economy and enterprise team on 01296 382447.
