Major attractions and hotels in Aylesbury Vale are encouraging local residents to take a relaxing break in the district this spring.

The ‘Discounts for Holidays at Home’ campaign involves a variety of top hotels and tourist venues in Aylesbury Vale working together with AVDC to offer a range of special offers on accommodation and admissions throughout April.

Some of the incentives for local residents to discover places of interest on their doorstep include:
• Buy one, get one free on entry prices at the Buckingham Old Gaol
• Free entry for all school children and half price for adults visiting Quainton Windmill on Sunday mornings
• Buy one, get one free offer for all activities at Aqua Vale in Aylesbury, including swimming, gym and aerobic classes
• A 10 per cent discount on items sold at the Roald Dahl Museum shop and café in Great Missenden
• A £130 discount on a room at Hartwell House in Aylesbury

Phil Black, Assistant Marketing and Tourism Manager at AVDC, said: “It’s often the case that local residents fail to fully appreciate the wonderful attractions, activities and places to eat and stay in their own area. By offering discounts on accommodation and admissions we hope to see many locals enjoy what their nearby hotels and attractions have to offer. You’d be an April fool to miss out!”

The special offers, which last until 30 April, are only open to residents of Aylesbury Vale. Residents are advised to pre-book accommodation and check details with the attractions before visiting.
