Residents of Aylesbury Vale are advised that there are no elections scheduled for the district council on 1 May.

Aylesbury Vale District Council held a ballot for the full council in 2007 so there are no elections this year.

The next scheduled elections are in 2009 when both the county council and European Parliamentary elections are due to be held.

An annual canvass of electors will take place in the autumn to confirm which residents are eligible to vote and to make sure the details on the electoral roll are correct.

Chris Sheard, Electoral Services Manager, said: “A number of residents have rung our electoral services team concerned that they haven't received poll cards. We would like to reassure residents that they haven't missed out, as there are no elections in the district this May.

“Our annual canvass of local electors is taking place again this autumn and we are encouraging people to register to vote at the first time of asking to help the council reduce the costs of printing and delivering reminder notices and employing electoral canvassers.”

Anyone wishing to add their name to the electoral register can do so by contacting electoral services at Aylesbury Vale District Council on 01296 585807 or emailing: electoralreg@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk
