Theatre in education play for secondary schools

Next week, over 1300 student from Buckinghamshire schools will get the opportunity to see the fantastic theatre play, 'The Man from the Council' produced by the MOMO theatre company. The performance aims to get pupils thinking about how much rubbish we throw away, looking at issues such as landfill sites and the 3R's - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The production, funded by Buckinghamshire County Council, will be visiting Year 7 and 8 students as part of the Rethink Rubbish at School waste education programme.

The entertaining show will encourage pupils to believe they are watching a serious presentation from an 'expert' from the council. But as his talk continues, his attempts to be serious are undermined by an anarchic assistant.

Councillor Martin Tett, Chairman for the Joint Waste Committee said, "'The Man from the Council' is a wonderful play which will visit Buckinghamshire schools between the 17th and 20th March. It's a brilliant way of educating our people on a variety of environmental issues."
