A concert at All Saints’ Church in Wing will hit the right note for the Chairman of Aylesbury Vale District Council’s charities on Saturday 10 May.
Music lovers will be in for a treat when a classical recital takes place to raise funds for Scannappeal and the Friends of Bierton Hill Centre – the Chairman’s chosen charities.
Soprano Sophie Polhill and pianist Antonia King will perform excerpts from Handel’s Messiah and other well-known favourites.
The charity concert is open to members of the public and all proceeds will be donated to the Chairman’s charities and All Saints’ Church.
Scannappeal raise money for life-saving medical equipment for hospitals in Buckinghamshire. The Chairman is supporting the charity’s latest appeal for a digital heart scanner for Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The Friends of Bierton Hill Centre raise funds to provide extra facilities and outings for the adults with learning difficulties attending the centre.
Councillor Netta Glover, Chairman of the Council, said: “We hope as many people as possible will seize the opportunity to see and hear this most accomplished duo perform exceptional works of music here in Aylesbury Vale. As well as providing a wonderful evening of music it will also raise some much-needed funds for my chosen charities. These organisations rely on the generosity of the public and fundraising events like this so they can carry on helping and supporting our most vulnerable residents.”
Tickets for the concert are £10 and can be obtained by telephoning Jan Roffe, the Chairman’s PA, on 01296 585009. Doors open at 6.45pm with the recital starting at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available on the door.
