Nominations have opened to fill the vacancies on Wendover Parish Council caused by the resignations of nine parish councillors.

Potential candidates for the seats have until noon on 6 June to submit completed nomination papers to Aylesbury Vale District Council.

If more than nine nominations are received for the vacancies and an election is necessary, this will be held on 3 July.

Anyone interested in standing for election should call the electoral services office on 01296 585050. The nomination process is quite simple but it is important to ensure that completed papers are returned to the Returning Officer at The Gateway, Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury HP19 8FF.

New applications for postal voting must be received by 5pm on 18 June or for proxy voting by 5pm on 25 June. The application form for a postal vote is available on the council’s website at www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk/elections
